The Cheap Grace of Joseph Prince Versus the Bible

Cheap Grace Versus the Bible

What kind of child would you get if you raised your child the following way?

1. Raise them to believe that they can really do no wrong as long as they believe in their parents.

2. Give them anything their worldly heart desires based on the fact that they still believe in their parents.

3. Whenever they get caught doing something wrong, instead of punishing them you give them a hug and tell them you love them.

4. Heck, you give the a raise in their allowance because they got caught sinning just so they don't feel too bad about their disobedience.

5. You tell your children that instead of thanking you for everything they have you just tell them to sit back because all the glory goes to the parents so if all the glory goes to them then they should do all the work.

You would end up with a child that is confused, worldy, spoiled and without divine intervention likely to go to hell.

So why would God treat us as an irresponsible parent might?  He wouldn't and doesn't and never has.

Joseph Prince says, "It is the gift of no condemnation that gives people the power to sin no more."

This is not accurate

(Rom 8:1 [KJV])
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Let's see what else God has to say about repentance, grace, sin, and other things that are distorted by Joseph Prince.

(Acts 20:21 [KJV])
Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

(Acts 26:20 [KJV])
But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Matt 25:11; Luke 6:46; Luke 13:25; Acts 19:13; Rom 2:13; Jas 1:22; 22 Many

will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? Jer 14:14; Jer 27:15; Luke 13:26; 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never

knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Ps 6:8; Matt 25:12; Matt 25:41;

(2Cor 11:13 [KJV])
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

(2Cor 11:14 [KJV])
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

(2Cor 11:15 [KJV])
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

(Gal 6:7 [KJV])
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

(Ps 6:8 [KJV])
Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping.

(Matt 25:41 [KJV])
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

(Gal 1:9 [KJV])
As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

(Rom 6:20 [KJV])
For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

(John 8:34 [KJV])
Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

Matthew 7:12-14
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. Luke 6:31; 13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to

destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:1  Luke 13:24; 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it

(Luke 13:24 [KJV])
Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

(Matt 23:28 [KJV])
Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

(Jas 4:14 [KJV])
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

Luke 12:31

31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. 1Chr 3:13; Ps 37:25; 32

(Luke 9:23 [KJV])
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

(1Tim 1:9 [KJV])
Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

Matthew 22:40
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Deut 6:5; Deut 10:12; Deut 30:6; Luke 10:27; 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt

love thy neighbour as thyself. Lev 19:18; Mark 12:31; Rom 13:9; Gal 5:14; Eph 5:2; 1Thess 4:9; Jas 2:8; 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

(John 15:9 [KJV])
As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

(John 15:10 [KJV])
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

(2Thess 2:11-12 [KJV])
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

John 15:14 [KJV])
Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

(John 15:15 [KJV])
Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

(John 15:16 [KJV])
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

(John 15:17 [KJV])
These things I command you, that ye love one another.

(John 15:18 [KJV])
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

(John 15:19 [KJV])
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

  1. I can refute nearly everything you have written against Joseph Prince with Scripture. But that would be a blog itself countering every point you make. You are not seeking to understand what Joseph Prince preaches and how he is preaching directly from the Bible. It seems to me that people like to seek first to discredit any ministry that grows globally.

So I'm going to just give you one example.

    You say:

"Joseph Prince says, "It is the gift of no condemnation that gives people the power to sin no more."

    This is not accurate

    (Rom 8:1 [KJV])
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

It is absolutely accurate!! don't you recall the the Pharisees who tried to trap Jesus with the adulterer???

7 So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up[g] and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” 8 And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience,[h] went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her,[i] “Woman, where are those accusers of yours?[j] Has no one condemned you?”

11 She said, “No one, Lord.”

And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and[k] sin no more.”
And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and[k] sin no more.”
And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and[k] sin no more.”

So NOW you can apply Romans 8:1 to her. She is in Christ Jesus with no condemnation. Now, THEREFORE, she can walk after the spirit sinning no more, rather than after the flesh which she did sin.

The way you are trying to refute Joseph Prince with Rom 8:1 is to say there IS condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, yet walk after the flesh.

  2. One more I suppose:

    From your previous post:
"We change and we are aware of our sins even more after we are saved. When you are made aware of your righteousness in your faith you are also aware of your sin. You should feel bad for sin and ask for forgiveness and turn from your sin."

    That is borderline blasphemy!

When you are born again of the Holy Spirit, you become a new spirit (creature in your words). At that point you ARE DEAD TO SIN! (Rom 6:6-12). So if you are dead to sin, how in the world does it make sense to dwell on sin, and feel bad for sin?? Of course we still fall short and ask for forgiveness, but being a new spirit in Jesus, you should be aware fully of Jesus, and the grace bestowed on us. Don't be sin conscious, be Jesus conscious! Jesus forgave you of your sin, why do you still feel badly for it? That's insulting to Jesus! Is His forgiveness not good enough for you that you have continue feeling bad for it? If you continue to feel bad for it that means you haven't forgiven yourself even after Jesus has forgiven you!

You don't live under the law, you live under Grace (Rom 6:14). Living under the law produces feelings of condemnation where you are always aware of every little single thing you do wrong. That's sin conscious. Under Grace, you are led by the Spirit such you are taught God's laws on your heart. (Jeremiah 31:34)

Your analogy of the child and parent does not apply. Certainly there are lessons to be learned as a parent that apply to our relationship with God. But your analogy doesn't apply because there is no "Parent Spirit" dwelling in the child leading the child, as there is a Holy Sprit from God dwelling in us, leading us.

The point you are trying to make anyway with the child getting anything he wishes is EXACTLY what Romans 6:6 and Romans 6:15 are warning you against!

6 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?

15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!

  3. chakley are you failing to realize what you're saying? First, you said when you're born again of the Spirit. How do you suppose that happens? Through the Word of God. Let's look at what Jesus says the Word of God is.....

And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the COMMANDMENT OF GOD, that ye may keep your own tradition
FOR MOSES SAID, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
    But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
Making the WORD OF GOD of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

He says it's inclusive of the WORDS given to Moses......
Jesus was in the Old Covenant, obviously since He had not died yet (Hebrew 9:15-22), when He told Nicodemus about being "born again" in John CH 3. Was the Spirit even given then the way you think it was? Of course not. 1 Peter 1:23 says you are born again by the word of God. When you repent from your sin and turn from it, what exactly do you think you do? You cannot know sin if the law doesn't show you!! Romans 7:7;James 1:23-25. As far as your understanding of Romans 6:14 I'd suggest reevaluating that. You are no longer under CONDEMNATION of sin through a changed heart and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, when you turn to the LORD and embrace HIS WAYS!!. Paul clarifies that all through Romans chapters 6-8. Once you have died to sin, you are no longer in bondage to it, through the Messiah (Romans ch 7). It's the same thing he teaches the Galatians who are turning back to their old ways (4:8-10; the analogy in Ch 4 of the covenants and then reiterated in 5;1) You obviously cannot understand 2 Corinthians ch 3 is a fulfillment of the verses in Ezekiel 36:26-27. What law do you think is written in our hearts and on our minds in the New Covenant? In our fleshly hearts that replace the stony ones WHEN YOU TURN TO THE LORD. A new, made-up-by-the-Spirit as you walk "born again"? Come on. Use a concordance. Please realize how many different laws Paul talks about!!! The word law as translated in Hebrews 8;8-10 from Jeremiah 31:31-33 is TORAH!!!! Look it up. Sorry, brother but JP is a perversion of grace as the book of Jude says (v4) and you my friend are exactly who Peter warned about in 2 Peter 3:15-17, twisting the words of Paul to follow after the error of the LAWLESS....I'm sorry I can't go into more detail, I just don't have time. Don't study to prove your doctrine, study to find God's path, it's obedience brother. Obedience to His laws. By the Grace of God, the Messiah tore down the wall of partition ( The Soreg, figuratively Ephesians 2:14-15) between Jew and Gentile. This is the MYSTERY of the gospel!! Take advantage that you are even allowed to be grafted in by the blood of the Messiah!!! Don't follow the doctrine handed to you by men, you are following Pharisees, not the people keeping the law of God!!! Break the chains of Bondage!!! I know I'm being bold but understand it's only because I think you need a violent shake to wake you out of the GRACE TRANCE YOU'RE IN!!! You are justified by the blood of the Mesiah, THROUGH FAITH, not by keeping the law. Nobody ever has been justified by the law, only faith. Once' you've been justified and put into right standing with God, you're life changes. You become a DOER of THE LAW!! Take care brother. I am not trying to argue at all. I hope you can understand my point in all this. I f there are any of Paul's writings you wish to quote to "throw away" the law, feel free. I'd love to show you my perspective on them. Thanks for your time if you read this.
